SEA and ME

18 11 2009

I guess it’s true what everyone says.

SEA is not something you instantly like (ofcourse there are exceptions) instead it has to grow on you.
It grew on me, that’s for sure.

To me, doing SEA is like conducting an orchestra. At first you plain suck at making everything work together and you have absolutely no idea what that big brass round thing is that appears to be eating one of your musicians (tuba) and why the heck is that dude just whacking those drums like a madman?

But after a while you start noticing the small details. The way cpc bidding is strangely connected to the quality score, how you can increase impressions and clicks by tinkering with keywords or rewriting your ads.

For all the SEA veterans, this might sound as ‘stating the obvious’ but to me, as a junior SEA-er it is amazing.

Funny how something that appears boring at first gets more and more amazing up to the point where you wake up and night and yell: “IF I DO THIS I MIGHT GET MORE CONVERSIONS” … then … you need vacation :)
